We are Chinese from Australia . Just from the looking, the lady boss may thought we were bunch of Chinese from mainland and knew nothing about western culture. She CHARGED us 35% of our spend as the tip WITHOUT even notice us!!!!!Tip is something the customers decide to give or not, NOT COMPULSORY!!!!I was very angry and have to write this here.EVEN one star is too many for them. I should give them a minus five star.

Hi, May I know the price of your late night hotpot? Thanks

I haven't tried hot pot at many places, and I have to say the one here at Yum Yum is just okay. There was a good selection of items you could choose from to put in your Hotpot. Things ranging from glass noodles, top ramen noodles (yes, you read right), shrimp, oysters, chicken, beef, etc...so no problem there. We chose our broth half spicy and half normal. I liked how the pot was shaped like a Yin-Yang symbol, which made sense in our case, haha. The only gripe I had about the hot pot was both sides of the broth were very bland! I ended up using the seasoning packets from the top ramen packages they had to try to add more flavor. It helped a lot. Not sure if this is normal for hotpots to start the broth bland and have the foods add flavor, but this was what we had to do. There were other condiments at the food selection bar that probably would have helped as well. The items on the normal menu looked pretty good, though. Next time, I'll have to try some of that.

Dropped in for their takeout lunch special. It was dirt cheap and for $ $4-5 you get a main dish and fan fried rice. Soup apparently is only included in dine-in lunch orders which was disappointing. The food came out quickly, but they forgot to sauce my friend's sweet and sour pork. The quality was average but I do not think I would return.

The Waiter was surly, at best. Hot and sour soup was ok but saltine crackers on the side? Really? Lunch special included soup, choice of appetizer, ham fried rice and choice of main dish. I picked "paper wrapped" chicken for the appetizer but that obviously meant foil wrapped. Ground chicken with some spices including ginger. A little dry and not too inspired. The ham fried rice was completely flavorless with three tiny cubes of processed ham and frozen peas & carrots added for color. There were a few flakes of egg, I think. Basically seasoned with a drizzle of soy sauce. I ordered one of my favorite dishes: Ma Bo Tofu (or Ma Po Tofu, depending on the restaurant and vernacular). I made sure to mention to the waiter that it could be Spicy but I am unsure whether he didn't speak enough English to understand or just didn't give a damn, I am leaning toward the later. It looked good and the seasonings were good... I believe I could taste a touch of five spice but it was only moderately spicy, at best. They used real pork vs. ground pork but there was very little meat and a couple pieces were caked with whatever coating they used. When I arrived there was a large table of Asian women finishing their lunch and as I was there, several other Asian couples came in ... There are Asian restaurants on every other block so seeing this cliental is generally a good sign OR the other area restaurants are Really bad or they are relatives. The interior looked like a pepto bismal bottle exploded: wall to wall pink and there were weird Chinese baby posters on all the walls. Really peculiar. They have one of those ding dong bells on the front door.. Seriously loud and annoying, I am glad they weren't busy. One would think they could turn it off if there is someone SITTING next to the door. There was no music and the big screen TV was on in the background with a soap opera playing. Most of the sound was the waiters taking to each other in Chinese... Loudly. I really loved it when another patron in the restaurant had to waive his hand and say "woo hoo!!!" in order to get service. This was definitely a one time visit .. At least it was cheap!Oh - and in the ladies room (I am going to try to post the picture) a sign OVER a small bucket that says "Please put toilet paper in the bucket" - can anyone say Eeeeewwww!!! Doesn't sound sanitary at all.
